Available Courses This class introduces students to the basics of the World Wide Web: • what it is, how it works and • what you have to do to publish your site on it. • Students will learn how to write HTML from scratch, • how to format images and text for basic page layout, • how to organize the information on a site, • where to go to secure space on the web and • how to let people know that you are there. With a plain text editor and the knowledge you get from this class, you will be ready to produce excellent web sites. • Tables • Framesets • Text and image formatting • Linking • FTP (uploading to www) • Working with color • File management • Forms • Meta tags This class will use frames and tables for more advanced layout and formatting control. All of the HTML will be written by hand. Cascading Style Sheets will be introduced and their capabilities and compatibilities explained. No prior experience with CSS is necessary. Topics include: • Advanced tables • Advanced framesets • Cascading Style Sheets • Site architecture • Formatting tips and tricks Learn to use an industry-standard visual HTML editing tool to create interesting, dynamic web pages quickly.
In this course, students will learn how to create a personal or business website using Adobe’s DreamWeaver CS3. We will explore the core aspects of new site creation, editing, and maintenance. This includes learning how to read and work with HTML, creating a site plan and directory structure before coding the site and studying existing websites to understand how they work. We will learn how to incorporate text, graphics, photographs, audio, video and animations in the site as well as use tables to control layout. The instructor will also discuss how to get a free web hosting account, how to register a domain name, and how to upload web files to a web server. Prerequisites: Basic Mac Skills, Basic Windows Skills Flash CS4 is the industry's most advanced authoring environment for creating interactive websites, digital experiences and mobile content. With Flash CS3, creative professionals design and author interactive content rich with video, graphics, and animation for truly unique, engaging websites, presentations or mobile content. This introductory class takes you through basic Flash from the ground up.
